How we review
Shikayat pages explain what to do about a complaint in India. Because people act on them, we are open about where the information comes from and how it is checked.
- 1
We start from official sources
Portals, helplines, fees and time limits come from government and regulator websites and from the law itself. Where a page quotes a figure, it links to the source.
- 2
We write in plain language
Guides are drafted in simple English and Hindi: when to use a remedy, the steps in order, key facts and common questions.
- 3
An advocate reviews the page
When an advocate has reviewed a page, it shows "Reviewed by", with the date and a link to the reviewer's details. Pages without that line have not yet been reviewed by an advocate and are general information only.
- 4
We keep pages up to date
Each page shows when it was last updated. Laws, portals and fees change, so please check the official site before you rely on a detail.
