UPI or online fraud: what to do in the first hour

Speed matters most in cyber fraud. When you report quickly, banks can freeze the money before it is moved on.
When to use this
- Money left your account through UPI, card or net banking without your consent
- You were tricked into paying a fake seller, job or investment
- Someone is threatening or blackmailing you online

Call 1930 now
The national cyber fraud helpline. Keep the acknowledgement number.

Report at cybercrime.gov.in
Add transaction IDs, screenshots and the fraudster's details.

Tell your bank in writing
Report within 3 working days to keep the strongest protection under RBI rules.

Follow up with the police
Ask for an FIR if the amount is large, and escalate to the RBI Ombudsman if the bank does not help.
