Shikayat (the website shikayat.co and the Shikayat Android app, operated by Abys Tech) helps people in India plan and draft complaints. This policy explains what we collect and why. By using Shikayat you agree to it.
What we collect
- Google account details: your name, email address and profile picture, when you sign in with Google. We never see your Google password.
- Profile details you give us: name, address, state, PIN code and a phone number verified by a one-time password.
- Your complaints: the text you type or speak, the companies or offices involved, dates and amounts, and files you upload as evidence (photos, PDFs, screenshots).
- Documents we generate for you, reminders, and your notification settings.
- Basic technical data such as device type and error logs, used to keep the service working and secure.
Why we use it
- To identify your account and keep it secure.
- To build your action plan, draft letters and legal documents, and send deadline reminders.
- To let an advocate work on your case when you ask for one.
- To contact you about your case by email, SMS or in-app notification.
- We do not sell your data and we do not show advertising.
Who it is shared with
- Advocates you choose to engage, and our support team, only for your case.
- Service providers that run Shikayat for us: Google (sign-in), an AI model provider (to understand your complaint and draft documents; we send only what is needed for that request), and providers that send SMS and email.
- Authorities or other parties only when you tell us to send a complaint or notice, or when the law requires it.
Security and retention
- Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to cases is limited to you, the advocates you engage and authorised staff.
- We keep your data while your account is active and delete it after you ask us to, except where the law requires us to keep a record.
Delete your Shikayat account and data
- To delete your Shikayat account, email abystechdev@gmail.com from the email address you use to sign in, with the subject "Delete my Shikayat account".
- We delete your account, profile (name, address, state, PIN code, phone number), complaints, generated documents and uploaded files within 30 days, and confirm by email.
- We may keep a minimal record where the law requires it (for example, a case an advocate has already filed for you), and encrypted backups for up to 30 more days.
- You can see and correct your details in Settings, ask for a copy of your data, or withdraw consent at any time at the same email address.
Children
- Shikayat is meant for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

- If we change this policy we will update the date above.
