CPGRAMS: how to complain about a government office

CPGRAMS is the central government's online grievance system. Your complaint goes to the right ministry, and you can appeal if you are not satisfied with the reply.

When to use this

  • A central government service is delayed, for example passport, pension or railways
  • An office is not replying to your applications
  • Staff asked for a bribe or behaved badly

Step by step

    Register on pgportal.gov.in

    Use your mobile number. Registration is free.

  2. 2

    Choose the ministry and write clearly

    State dates, application numbers and what you want, within the character limit.

  3. 3

    Track the registration number

    You get updates by SMS and email.

  4. 4

    Appeal if needed

    If the reply does not solve the problem, file an appeal from the same page.
