e-Jagriti is the online portal for filing and tracking cases at the District, State and National Consumer Commissions. You can file from home, in your own district, without a lawyer.

What it handles

  • Defective goods and deficient services
  • Unfair trade practices and misleading ads
  • Refund and compensation claims against sellers, platforms, builders, banks and insurers

How to file

    Try the company first

    Send a written complaint and a legal notice with a deadline, usually 15 days.

    Pick the right Commission

    Claims up to ₹50 lakh go to the District Commission. Higher claims go to the State or National Commission.

  3. 3

    Register and fill the form

    Create an account on e-Jagriti, enter both sides' details, your facts, the relief you want and the claim value.

  4. 4

    Upload documents and pay any fee

    Attach the bill, correspondence and notice. Claims up to ₹5 lakh have no fee.

  5. 5

    Track hearings online

    Dates and orders appear on the portal; you can often appear by video.
